The Seven Last Words by Fulton J. Sheen

This faith-filled reflection on the Seven Last Words of Jesus from the Cross leads us into the Passion of Christ in a way that is both timeless and ever new for 21st-century Catholics. These poignant words of Jesus—from “Father, forgive them” to “Into thy hands I commend my spirit”—reveal the height, depth and breadth of his sacrificial love in action. As we journey with him through this experience of pain and hope, our own faith is renewed and strengthened.

Presented here in Archbishop Sheen’s original style, and featuring a prayer to accompany each “word,” this meditation urges us to witness Christ’s suffering on the Cross and atone for our sins that he died to redeem.
