Venture Student Bilingual — Grades 4-6 — Pflaum Gospel Weeklies

Lead fourth- to sixth-graders in making moral choices and exploring and expanding faith. Dramatizations, current events, and original stories link the Gospel to kids’ own lives. Saints’ lives (illustrated as comics) and imaginative activities demonstrate applications of the Gospel message.

The Pflaum Gospel Weeklies Faith Formation Program flows from Jesus’ teachings in the Sunday Gospels. Children learn their faith—including what we believe as Catholics, the liturgy and sacraments, morality, and prayer—within the rhythms and seasons of the liturgical year.

Each child’s lesson is based on the Gospel the Church proclaims on Sunday. Lessons connect the Gospel to the children’s lives and to the doctrine that springs from the Gospel message. Thirty-two doctrinal themes repeat each year. The Activity Book and the Catechism handbooks— Mi fe católica (or see Venture Student which includes the English handbook, What the Church Believes and Teaches correlate to those doctrinal themes. (Both Lessons and the Venture handbook Mi fe católica are bilingual.) This liturgical catechesis keeps students and their families closely connected to the liturgical cycles of the church year, while providing thorough instruction in the faith.
